Let’s give a warm welcome to Kelly’s Pot Pies, which recently joined the GGCC. As we’ve started to do, we contacted this new chamber member to learn a bit more about them and why they joined our organization. Here’s what we learned:

There are two reasons they opened their second store in Greenfield (the original, which includes their main kitchen, is in East Troy). First, owners Kelly and Pat McGinnis were encouraged by their large following at the Greenfield Farmers Market. Throughout the season in 2022, Kelly’s Pot Pies had a booth at the market. Their visitors at the market often asked them, “Why don’t you open a store in Greenfield?”

The second reason for Kelly’s opening a store in our city was familial. Their son-in-law, Pat Rock, lives in Greenfield and manages the new store. It should be no surprise, therefore, to hear Pat McGinnis say, “We love Greenfield. It’s a great community.” Also members of the Mukwonago and East Troy Chambers of Commerce, Pat McGinnis mentioned they, “Are hopeful that [the Greater Greenfield Community Chamber] will help us grow our business and be a resource for some community activities we might want to be involved in.” He indicated that the GGCC’s ribbon-cutting was another reason they joined, thinking it would be helpful for Kelly’s to host the ceremony during their grand opening, which was about a month ago.

Kelly’s Pot Pies is a life-long dream of Kelly, who grew up in the restaurant business. Having opened their first store just two and one-half years ago, Pat says, “Sometimes we are shocked how quickly it has grown.” Kelly, by the way, does the food production and Pat handles the sales and marketing. Each pie is handmade and starts with Kelly’s secret crust, which comes out crispy and flakey. According to their website, the pies are “Just Like Grandma’s.”

Their big fan base will be happy to hear that not only does Kelly’s now have a store in Greenfield, but they will continue to do the farmer’s market every Sunday all summer long.
